Our eco claims for our Eco laundry pods are based on a combination of our use of packaging and ingredients. These claims are not registered/certified with an external scheme, mainly due to lack of relevant certifiers after Brexit. But we can back up these claims with the following rationale.
One of the main stain fighters is Sodium Percarbonate, widely considered an eco-friendly ingredient, which offers oxygen based bleaching/stain removal benefits along with very good post-use eco credentials. Plus, another ingredient, TAED, which activates Sodium Percarbonate at much lower temperatures in the wash. Resulting in much improved efficacy at lower temperatures.
Temperature is the main driver for energy consumption during the laundry process. Hence our eco oxy power solution helps the consumer save energy and money while working on the biggest lever for CO2 reduction.
Our formula uses cleaners derived from plant-based sustainable feedstocks, thus avoiding the release of fossil CO2 into the atmosphere. Our powder format has also allowed us to avoid using ingredients found in most liquid capsules with well-known environmental concerns (Primarily ABS + Monoethanol Amine). And the other detergent ingredients are substances found in nature.
Our pod film is biodegradable too reducing the need for plastic in our packaging.
Oh, and they're also a carbon neutral product.
Our outer packaging is completely plastic free and fully recyclable (+inherently biodegradable), almost all other competitors are either contained in plastic containers/pouches or cardboard boxes with plastic linings.
